As you look on the standings, there is only one thing we can know for sure… Croatia has made it to the knockout stage. But, which team will follow them? Before the tournament, I called this the toughest and most interesting group, and I still find it to be so. Croatia will play against Iceland, while Nigeria will play against Argentina.

If Argentina manages to play at their best, they should make it the knockout stage. It will require them to score more goals than Iceland do (if both teams win their matches tonight), giving them a better goal-score than Iceland. But, Argentina has to win their match tonight, and that should give Nigeria some great chances as well. The African team will most likely end up in the knockout stage if they get a draw tonight, as long as Iceland doesn’t win against Croatia with 3 goals or more.

Argentina hasn’t impressed so far in the tournament, but maybe today is the day when Messi will get lucky again?

Nigeria disappointed in their first match in the World Cup 2018, while Iceland impressed. But, is Iceland the favorites to win this match? Not really! Watch Nigeria – Iceland online!

Before the start of the tournament, Iceland did not impress in their friendly matches. Their opponents scored a lot of goals against them, and they didn’t win any of their matches. But then the tournament started, and they started to play football like we know they are capable of. And their opponent was no other team than one of the big favorites in the tournament, Argentina.

The team from Iceland impressed with good defensive football, fueled with some fantastic attacks. When Argentina scored the first goal in the match and got in the lead with 1-0, I never thought Iceland would be able to get back into the match. I thought Iceland would turn into a disaster, and the match would end with 4-0 to Argentina. But, I did not have to wait for more than 4 minutes before Iceland got back into the match and 1-1 was the result. Later in the match, Lionel Messi got the chance to send Argentina back into the lead on a penalty, but the Icelandic keeper did a magnificent save, and thus the match ended 1-1.

Can Nigeria rise after their first match?

But, it is never easy to be the opponent of Croatia, as they have a fantastic team with great discipline, and thus it was a hard start on the tournament for Nigeria. Neymar is back with great power!

On June 3rd Brazil played against Croatia in a friendly match preparing both teams for the FIFA World Cup. Both teams played good football, and both teams proved that they have something to give in the World Cup.

The biggest star on the field in the match was Neymar. He has just returned from injury, and he returned with power. If you haven’t seen his goal yet, take a look at it in the video beneath. He just shot the ball so hard into the net, it is a miracle it didn’t create a big hole in it.

Back in 2014 Brazil and Croatia played the opening match of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Brazil won the match 2-1, but lots of people were unsatisfied with the judge who they felt ruled the game in Brazilian advantage. Yesterday both teams had a fair amount of chances, and Croatia actually played very well. But, Brazil has Neymar, and with Neymar comes to magic. If he can keep it up like that, then Brazil might have a fantastic chance at succeeding in the World Cup. We for sure hope they do because few teams play as cool football as Brazil does.

Neymar is back on track and he scored against Croatia on June 3rd

Croatia will play their opening match in the FIFA World Cup against Nigeria on June 16th, while Brazil will play against Switzerland on June 17th. Nigeria played against England and lost 2-1 this Saturday. I watched most of the match, and I must say that Nigeria is a cool team to watch. They will for sure be punished for their mistakes, but they are cool to watch. They will, however, against a disciplined and well-playing team like Croatia probably lose their opening match.

Switzerland played against Spain yesterday evening and the match ended 1-1. There are quite a lot of similarities between Spain and Brazil when it comes to style, but Brazil is even more attacking, while Spain is more disciplined in their defensive play. Switzerland is a nation hard to beat, but we believe that some Neymar magic will break the defense down, and thus Switzerland will be forced to attack. For that reason, the end result could easily turn into a 1-1, 2-2 or 3-1! What do you think?
